Terminal themes

Drop-in themes for Kitty, Ghostty, and Alacritty. The 16 ANSI colour slots map cleanly onto the SeaOwl chart palette plus brand cyan, so syntax highlighting feels at home next to the rest of the system.

// KITTY

SeaOwl for Kitty

Cyber cyan on cool navy, mapped across all 16 ANSI slots.

Kitty · seaowl palette
$ kitty --config ~/.config/kitty/kitty.conf

// brand cyan on the cyan slots

About

SeaOwl for Kitty is a plain Kitty config snippet — no plugins, no font swap, no shell changes. It sets the 16 ANSI colour slots, tab bar, selection, and cursor to the same OKLCH palette the design system ships with, so syntax highlighting and TUIs feel like they're part of the same family as the rest of the site.

Install
  1. Create the themes directory: mkdir -p ~/.config/kitty/themes
  2. Download the theme: curl -o ~/.config/kitty/themes/seaowl.conf https://seaowl.unfuck.cloud/seaowl-kitty.conf
  3. Add include themes/seaowl.conf to your ~/.config/kitty/kitty.conf
  4. Reload Kitty with Ctrl+Shift+F5

About

A Ghostty-native theme file that ships the full 16-slot ANSI palette, foreground, background, cursor, and selection colours in Ghostty's `key = value` config syntax. Drop it in ~/.config/ghostty/themes/, reference it from your Ghostty config, and syntax highlighting lines up with the rest of SeaOwl — same brand cyan, same dark navy surface, same chart-palette accents as the design system.

Install
  1. Create the themes directory: mkdir -p ~/.config/ghostty/themes
  2. Download the theme: curl -o ~/.config/ghostty/themes/seaowl https://seaowl.unfuck.cloud/seaowl-ghostty
  3. Add `theme = seaowl` to ~/.config/ghostty/config
  4. Reload Ghostty (Cmd+Shift+, to open config, save to apply)

// ALACRITTY

About

A drop-in theme for Alacritty (0.13+, TOML config). Maps the SeaOwl chart palette and brand cyan onto the 16 ANSI colour slots so shell prompts, ls, git diff, vim and tmux all read as part of the same design system as the rest of SeaOwl. Cool dark navy background, cool off-white foreground at AA contrast, brand cyan cursor with dark navy text, muted cyan-tinted selection. No font changes, no plugins, no live-reload gymnastics — Alacritty picks it up on the next launch.

Install
  1. mkdir -p ~/.config/alacritty/themes
  2. curl -o ~/.config/alacritty/themes/seaowl.toml https://seaowl.unfuck.cloud/seaowl-alacritty.toml
  3. Add import = ["~/.config/alacritty/themes/seaowl.toml"] to the top of ~/.config/alacritty/alacritty.toml
  4. Restart Alacritty. The cyan cursor and dark navy background should appear immediately.
